The Gillespies cut the ribbon for the walk. Their son David has HLHS, the same condition that Phoenix was born with. He is doing amazing! A true hero. He is one of the many reasons why we need to raise more money. Maybe one day these babies won't need any surgeries. If research continues, they may be able to fix their hearts before they are born!
Bill and Jocelyn came out for the walk and raised hundreds of dollars for Sick Kids. At the end of the day, when we announced our grand total of all the pledges, $9300, they went up to Ashleigh and told her they would make it an even $10000. $700 out of their own pocket. We should all learn from them. Two of the nicest human beings you will ever meet!
